Descrizione
This wine presents itself in the glass with an intense ruby red colour, crossed by garnet vibrations at the edge: structure and elegance in balance. The nose offers a complex bouquet: ripe red fruits such as cherry and plum, hints of undergrowth and fresh Mediterranean herbs, with a mineral note reminiscent of stone.
With oxygenation, nuances of sweet spice (white pepper and liquorice) and light hints of dark chocolate or coffee emerge, while in the mouth it balances strength and finesse: full-bodied but harmonious, well-integrated tannins, lively acidity that gives momentum and a savouriness reminiscent of the pure air and winds of the Madonie mountains.
The finish is long and persistent, with hints of dark fruit and spice, leaving a clear and recognisable territorial imprint: each glass is a small sensory excursion into the mountains.
It is best enjoyed with roast red meats, baked shank, porcini mushrooms and mature cheeses. Thanks to its structure and natural freshness, Lilium Petrae has excellent ageing potential for several years. Serve between 18 and 20C in a large glass, allowing it to breathe for at least 20-30 minutes.
