A vegetable garden cultivated the old way
Here in Petralia Sottana, in the heart of the Madonie Park, we grow our vegetables following the natural rhythms of the seasons, with respect for the land and for Sicilian farming traditions. No forcing, no shortcuts: just sunshine, pure mountain water and the daily care of our family. It is a way of working that comes from the philosophy of our Masseria: a deep bond with the land, handed down from generation to generation.
From our garden straight to your table
All these delicacies do not travel far: they are delivered every day to our Ristorante Il Castello in Petralia Sottana, where our family kitchen turns them into traditional Madonie dishes at true zero-kilometre freshness.
Among the specialties not to be missed is our caponata, prepared with the fresh vegetables of our own production: eggplants, tomatoes and garden vegetables blending into a perfect sweet-and-sour balance, just as the most authentic Sicilian tradition requires. And then seasonal side dishes, genuine appetizers, fragrant sauces and many other recipes that change following what the garden gives us day after day. This is the truest Madonie cuisine: simple, seasonal and full of flavour.
